I originally shared these desktop wallpapers on the GameTrailers.com Forums. Here’s the thread.
The wallpaper has been extremely popular, bringing 220,080 views to that forum thread and a lot of traffic to my site, which is really cool.
I also emailed the wallpaper to Valve and Jeep Barnett of the Portal team responded saying that he was using it on his computer. :)
So, here’s the wallpaper…available in several colors and a couple different sizes:
Teal (1920×1200)

Any chance I could get a copy of the 3dsmax object and texture(s) that you used for the WCC background? Just would like to do something else with it – just want to play around a little with it. If so, could you send it to bigwebb@gmail.com ? Thanks!
Hey, Steve.
There was no 3D software used to make the wallpaper. The WCC was posed in-game and cut from the background in Photoshop. The gradient and hearts are Photoshop. :)
Heya, these are great, thanks for putting em together!
Pleeeease can i have the photoshop file?
I wanna customize my own :D
Its SOOO ownage :D:D:D
This will definitely be my wallpaper for a long time, thanks.
I just wish the cube didn’t have as many jaggies.
Very nice work! i copied the image for wallpaper use hope that’s ok :D
10/10 points from me :)
Very nice.
Did you just use the shapes tool in photoshop, along with lots of tweaking? For the hearts I mean.
Yeah. It’s the heart shape that comes with Photoshop.
I used it as a stamp and quickly threw them around at varying sizes while changing the color a few times to make the layering. :)
Ah, wonderfull. I see you’re not only good at music but photoshop as well.
Great Work! I really liked your music (and wallpaper of course).
