A difficult task.

I no longer listen to any RIAA music and very little music sold for money. Yes, my music collection has finally been sterilized and is now only filled with freely downloadable music distributed under a Creative Commons license as well as the soundtracks from some video games and a few non-RIAA CD’s I had. In addition to non-RIAA releases from bands like Stolen Babies, Dog Fashion Disco, Meshuggah and Outside I now have a huge selection of music off Jamendo and the NetLabel archive on Archive.org. I downloaded no less than 300 albums last night. 189 releases from the Monotonik NetLabel alone!
What disheartens me about this change though is that I can no longer listen to Mr.Bungle or Pink Floyd as they’re both on major RIAA labels. Most of the albums from Aphex Twin were also released by the RIAA. Though that’s a very minor loss for something much greater: Integrity.
I’m going to be so confused for the next few months as 90% of the music I’ll be listening to is stuff I’ve never heard before. Once I have finished sorting the music library I will provide a list of everything in it so you can check all this music out too.
REQUEST: If you know any video game soundtracks that are legally available for download I’d love to know about them.
Oh, and as always; music from The Hamster Alliance will always be free and available direct from the source. :)

What is this supposed to prove exactly? I don’t see why you’d do something like this.
It’s not to “Prove” anything to anyone. It’s simply not being hypocritical on my stance of free music and rejecting the RIAA for the horrible things they’re doing. They RIAA is not a good company and they’re constantly trying to invade our privacy.
But really, you already know that I don’t believe in the sale of music and that I think music should be free. Music is an artist’s gift to the world and as such is priceless. To put a value on music is to cheapen it to that of a commodity and not an artistic work of actual merit and significance. To monetize and capitalize on people wanting to hear and feel the emotions in music is wrong. If music is a language, then telling someone, “Sorry, you’re not allowed to hear this language unless you pay the listening tax” is absurd. I’m not going to go all in to it as I’ve already explained some of this to you so I’m not sure why you’re asking, but yeah, there’s the short version. :)
PS: Go download the latest Nine Inch Nails album, “Ghosts”. It was officially released as a free download on ThePirateBay. as you can see, I’m not the only one who believes in free music and the downfall of the RIAA.
Yeah, I heard about Ghosts. Very ambient if ya ask meh.
Well, hopefully there will come a day when the RIAA comes down.
I was going to ask you if you had any Pink Floyd I could have over Skype once I got back to my computah box. rawr.
Thanks for adding me to your Steam friends list. I own an Orange Box, but I don’t a copy of Audiosurf. Great demo anyways!
Jamendo, I’ve been on that website for a whole day just trying to find some nice songs. I was looking for classical tracks, but they’re hard to find. So I spotted some other songs on Jamendo, it’s a cool website. But that has been a while ago, lately I’ve been checking out BuzzMusic again, uploaded some of my tracks.
I’m getting better at making music lately. My tracks had the eagher to repeat the same patterns over and over, I’m starting to cross that border and make tracks that are have more variation.
I’m also thinking about making some more songs with electronic instruments and classical instruments mixed together.
GREAT REVIEWS. I readed them a few days ago.
