Didn’t like it. Liked some of it. Liked most of it. Loved it.

January

Karoshi [ 1/06/2009 ] (Download It)
(Karoshi means death from overworking. Fun game!)

Karoshi 2.0 [ 1/06/2009 ] (Download It)
(Best of the series! Absolute madness!)

Karoshi Factory [ 1/06/2009 ] (Download It)
(Now you have to kill your co-workers too. A bit dull compared to Karoshi 2.)

Gumboy: Crazy Adventures [ 1/07/2009 ]
(A horribly treacherous platformer. Gumboy had me pulling my hair out!)

Citizen Abel: Gravity Bone [ 1/12/2009 ] (Download It)
(This game has an undeniable charm to it! It’s an awesome yet brief experience.)

The Manipulator [ 1/13/2009 ] (Download It)
(An eerie stealth game about mind-control. The jittery art style is great!)

Knytt Stories: Afar [ 1/13/2009 ] (Download It)
(This one relied on hidden passages too much, but it was still a nice adventure.)

Knytt Stories: An Underwater Adventure [ 1/13/2009 ] (Download It)
(Too much Insta-Death crap, but I really liked the creepy vibe in this one!)

Knytt Stories: The Machine [ 1/15/2009 ] (Download It)
(Some great locations in this story. My favorite so far next to the original.)

Mass Effect [ 1/19/2009 ]
(Quite awesome, aside from the wussy feeling guns and some RPG tedium.)

Knytt Stories: The Outsider [ 1/20/2009 ] (Download It)
(A Knytt story with a more involved story – Nice! Very short, but enjoyable.)

Samorost 2 [ 1/29/2009 ] (Try it)
(Finally got around to playing the full version of Samorost 2. Great!)

February

Doritos: Dash of Destruction [ 2/10/2009 ]
(Surprisingly fun and amusing for an advertisement game.)

Gish [ 2/13/2009 ]
(Difficult and sometimes a bit cheap, but overall a lot of fun.)

Iji [ 2/15/2009 ] (Download It)
(Incredible! Great story, gameplay, design and music all in one.)

Closure [ 2/16/2009 ] (Play It)
(A very unique game mechanic. Simple concept, perplexing puzzles.)

Dirty Split [ 2/20/2009 ] (Download It)
(A good PNC adventure. Funny dialogue + asinine solutions = fun.)

March

In Another Brothel [ 3/12/2009 ] (Download It)
(Save the prostitutes using a gun that fires boxes! Fun, but way too short.)

April

FLOCK! [ 4/14/2009 ]
(Too repetitive and doesn’t provide much incentive, but fun for a while.)

And Yet It Moves [ 4/16/2009 ]
(Deliciously devious! Interesting gameplay, great music & stylish graphics. )

May

Zeno Clash [ 5/29/2009 ]
(What? I don’t get it, but I like it. An exceedingly well done first-person brawler!)

June

Quake 2: Ground Zero [ 6/05/2009 ]
(You have defeated the Strogg invasion! Yes, I only just got around to this.)

Mirror’s Edge [ 6/25/2009 ]
(Running is enjoyable. Fighting is frustrating. Still, a beautiful game.)

July

Little Wheel [ 7/2/2009 ] (Play It)
(Great music and great art style, just way too short. I want a full game!)

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin [ 7/11/2009 ]
(Remove some of the new gameplay mechanics and it would be perfect.)

Trine [ 7/12/2009 ]
(Frozenbyte has blossomed into a truly great developer and Trine shows it.)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky [ 7/19/2009 ]
(A great game with a poor ending. Not as great as the original, but plenty good!)

August

Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason [ 8/18/2009 ]
(A pure mind fuck. Confusing, yet engaging and original. Wonderful!)

Half-Life 2: Research & Development mod [ 8/20/2009 ]
(A fantastic puzzle-oriented mod! Genuinely funny and clever at every turn.)

September

Bookworm Adventures 2 [ 9/5/2009 ]
(PopCap: Masters of gameplay that’s easy to grasp, yet is deep and rewarding.)

Clive Barker’s Jericho [ 9/16/2009 ]
(The story is fine, I enjoyed it. The game around it though isn’t very good.)

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 [ 9/18/2009 ] (Watch It)
(I watched all 100 hours of the Persona 4 Endurance Run on Giant Bomb.)

The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition [ 9/21/2009 ]
(A great adventure game. The updated graphics and voice acting are fantastic!)

F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn [ 9/23/2009 ]
(Sadly, this ends right when it gets interesting. Only lasts about 2 hours.)

October

Windosill [ 10/8/2009 ]
(Awesome, but incredibly short. I desire more, damn it!)

Icycle [ 10/11/2009 ] (Play It)
(Another very short, but enjoyable indie game with a nice 50’s art style.)

Far Cry 2 [ 10/12/2009 ]
(Great, aside from the tedious repetition, vast terrain and jamming weapons.)

Osmos [ 10/13/2009 ]
(Touted as a relaxing experience, Osmos is actually frustration hell. Still fun tho.)

Lucidity [ 10/15/2009 ]
(Great artwork can’t save poor gameplay. It’s just too random and frustrating.)

Machinarium [ 10/17/2009 ]
(Amazing and adorable. Impressive visuals and sound with challenging puzzles.)

Plants vs. Zombies [ 10/18/2009 ]
(PopCap does it again: Another fun and addictive game. Damn their scientists!)

November

Tomb Raider: Underworld [ 11/1/2009 ]
(Quite good. Better than Anniversary and perhaps Legend too. Still ridiculous.)

Prince of Persia (2008) [ 11/6/2009 ]
(Simple gameplay with a fantastic art style. Enjoyable but stretched a bit thin.)

Batman: Arkham Asylum [ 11/14/2009 ]
(Fantastic! Fun and engaging the whole way through except for Riddle cleanup.)

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 [ 11/14/2009 ]
(Not as good as Red Alert 1 or 2, though still a great addition to the series.)

Hammerfight [ 11/16/2009 ]
(A fun and original game. The story is interesting and the combat is satisfying.)

Aquaria [ 11/28/2009 ]
(Aquaria is truly great. Huge too. One of the best games I’ve ever played!)

December

Tales of Monkey Island: Season 1
Episode 1: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal [ 12/03/2009 ]
(Definitely off to a good start. Cheese and manatee jokes are always enjoyable.)

Zombie Shooter [ 12/04/2009 ]
(Low-resolution sprites. That’s how you fit a thousand zombies into every level.)

Dreamkiller [ 12/13/2009 ]
(2004 called and they want their twitch FPS back. Fast oldschool fun.)

Silent Hill: Homecoming [ 12/25/2009 ]
(Great graphics and that Silent Hill look, but wholly devoid of terror. Oops.)
